FIT e-bike 2024: These are our top topics in the new season

The beginning of the 2024 season is a good opportunity to look ahead to the trends of the new year – so here is the lowdown. In the first part, we will deal with the issues that will occupy us at FIT in the new season from a technical point of view.

1. FIT E-BIKE CONTROL APP

The app as a link between the e-bike and the digital world. Two years ago, we launched the FIT E-Bike Control app for the first time. A few months ago, the smartphone app underwent a major update. One of the highlights was the offline use, which allows you to connect the e-bike to the app even without a network connection and lock and unlock the e-bike. Individual motor settings were also possible.

It is no secret that the subject of the e-bike app will be a big topic in the new season as well. After all, it is a general trend that more and more e-bike brands are launching their own smartphone apps, enabling direct connections to their e-bikes. Of course, we will remain on the ball here and have therefore planned further improvements and an expansion of the functionality of our app. To facilitate access to the FIT E-Bike Control app, we have been offering all the app's functions free of charge since January 17, 2024.

2. E-BIKE INTEGRATION

Increasingly tidy designs, more and more functionality, more and more connectivity. It’s no secret that integration is one of the really “hot topics” in the e-bike world. We can’t reveal too much yet, but in 2024 we will be starting a number of exciting collaborations that will further advance the technical integration of the e-bike. The cooperation between FIT and Pinion with the successful launch of the Motor.Gearbox.Unit (MGU) in 2023 has shown just how successful such collaborations can be.

3. PINION MOTOR.GEARBOX.UNIT

Which brings us to the Pinion Motor.Gearbox.Unit. Actually, the MGU was the big news of the 2023 season, but the collaboration with Pinion will still be something to report on in 2024.

Just to remind you: The MGU combines an electric motor with Pinion transmission technology and electric gears – thus ushering in a new era in e-bike technology. The interest in and demand for MGU is high. That’s why we want to intensify this in 2024.

4. NEW PRODUCTS

Of course, we are also tinkering with completely new products. For example, the FIT Master Node Basic will get a sibling. Also in the area of battery mounts, we can already announce that there will be new developments. We also want to take account of the trend that more and more e-bike components rely on a wireless connection.

5. MORE E-BIKES

Whatever the lowdown – the most important issue for us in 2024 will remain the same as in previous years: Our goal is to make e-mobility as simple and personal as possible with FIT – and thus to inspire more people to use an e-bike. Increasingly integrated, connective and functional e-bikes should be the best prerequisite for this.

In addition to the top topics from FIT, there will also be completely new, exciting e-bike models from a wide range of manufacturers in 2024. In the article E-Bikes 2024, we present 7 of these models in more detail. Just click on the following link to find out more.
