E-BIKES 2023 – FIVE SMART MODELS WITH THE FIT E-BIKE SYSTEM
The old year is over, the new season is just around the corner. This also applies to bike technology. During the winter months, manufacturers worked flat out to bring the latest generation of models to stores in time for the start of the season. In this article, we will give you a small preview of the direction e-bike technology will take in 2023. Below, we present five e-bike models with the FIT e-bike system, which will cause a sensation this year.
FLYER GOROC X
When an e-bike is described as a decathlete, you know the e-bike is going to be particularly versatile. The same goes for the new FLYER Goroc X. The crossover e-bike covers a particularly wide range of uses – from commuting to work to a fully packed multi-day tour. So it comes as no surprise that the pedelec is suitably well equipped: The full suspension and extra-wide tires are real eye-catchers that will help you experience a lot of riding pleasure even on rough terrain. Power is provided by the Panasonic GX Ultimate Pro drive with 95 Nm. Awesome: The fully integrated main battery can be easily removed from the side and charged externally. Thanks to a standard interface, an optional Range Extender with 540 Wh can also be added at a later date. A total of 1,290 Wh battery capacity can thus be achieved. The bike is rounded off by the FIT 2.0 control elements: These combine intuitive operation, readability, smartphone connection and innovative functions to form an intelligent overall system.
HERCULES PASERO PRO I-12
From commuting on city bike paths to extended tours in the countryside, the HERCULES Pasero Pro I-12 can do a lot. This is due to a particularly versatile setup, which includes the S-Mag-Motor from Brose with 90 Nm torque and the SuperCore battery with a capacity of a full 750 Wh. Also suitable for any terrain is the wide transmission of Shimano’s Deore XT 12-speed gears that come with a cassette with 10 to 51 teeth. An air suspension fork with handlebar remote control, powerful disc brakes, smooth running and puncture-protected Marathon Almotion tires from Schwalbe, a powerful lighting system with 100-lux headlights and the FIT Display Compact 2” with remote controller complete the new Hercules speedster.
OPIUM S-PEDELEC
New on the market and already at full throttle – that’s how the launch of the new Opium e-bike brand could be described in a nutshell. In 2023, an S-pedelec with a particularly long range will be put into the race. In addition to the slim design, this is mainly due to the enormous battery capacity of up to 2,140 Wh (main battery: 1,670 Wh, Range Extender: 470 Wh), which promises up to 340 kilometers on a single battery charge – a stretch from Zurich to Geneva. The equipment also includes a suspension fork with 45 millimeters travel, ABS, integrated Lupine lighting, a GPS tracker and special anti-theft protection. The smart e-bike system from FIT is responsible for the interactive functions. On a practical note, the Opium rack is also a combination of fender and rack with Ortlieb’s QL3 fastening system – perfect for transporting the most important things on the way to work.
BULLS E-STREAM EVO AM 3
The E-Stream EVO AM 3 from German manufacturer Bulls has set itself the goal of providing maximum trail fun. This is a thoroughbred all-mountain e-bike that is equipped with a RockShox frameset and 150 millimeters of travel for the appropriate trail flow. The powerful 85 Nm S-Mag-Plus drive from Brose, equipped with a 555 Wh battery and the FIT e-bike system, provides propulsion. The setup is enhanced by the SLX gears and disc brakes from Shimano, including an extra-large 10-51 cassette.
FLYER UPSTREET
Our selection of five smart e-bikes with the FIT system is rounded off by another FLYER racer. The FLYER Upstreet is a chic city e-bike that strives to strike the right balance between a city speedster and a style icon. The fully integrated design is particularly eye-catching, with all the drive components elegantly integrated into it. This also applies to the other components. One example is the FLYER stem, which guides the cables directly into the frame, thus ensuring the handlebars look neat. Other equipment includes wide, non-slip 2.35-inch Schwalbe tires, bright lights and a rack. The 95 Nm Panasonic-GX-Ultimate-Pro-Motorincluding the FIT system provides propulsion. Depending on the model variant, a 630 Wh battery is installed, but there are also versions that can be equipped with a Range Extender for greater range.
