FIT e-bike passport: Keep an eye on all e-bike components

Whether it’s a repair or an upgrade, knowing your own e-bike and its components in detail can be beneficial in many situations. The e-bike passport in the FIT E-Bike Control app helps you to keep track.

Why you should know the parts of your e-bike

What exactly is the name of the motor of my e-bike? Which battery version is installed? And what is the maximum total weight that my bike can carry? Normally, you don’t need information like this in your everyday e-bike life. However, there are many situations in which it is helpful to know the exact configuration of your e-bike.

For example, if something breaks, having the right model names can make it much easier to find the correct spare parts. If you’re looking for operating instructions for specific parts, such as the e-bike display or the e-bike battery, the exact name will help you find the right documents. And if you want to upgrade your e-bike – for example, with a new saddle – it also makes sense to know the existing model.

In short: If you are highly familiar with the technology of your e-bike and know its configuration, this is an advantage in many cases.

The FIT E-Bike Control app and the e-bike passport

The good news is that to get an overview of the components on your e-bike, you don’t need to create a complex Excel spreadsheet. If you have an e-bike with a FIT 2.0 system, just look at our FIT E-Bike Control app (which, by the way, constantly receives app updates for improvements, as you can find out here).

All the components that are installed on your e-bike are stored in the e-bike passport feature. The e-bike ID (frame number) and other basic data are also recorded in the e-bike passport. This way, all the information about your e-bike is collected in one place – and you can easily access it at any time.

The following data are stored in the e-bike passport:

Please note: The original configuration data are stored in the FIT e-bike passport. Sometimes, however, there may be slight deviations of some attachments, for example due to supply bottlenecks. We also have no influence on whether components are still exchanged at specialist retailers. Essential components – such as the motor – always match the data in the app. Incidentally, this has no effect on the warranty or guarantee claim.
