NAVIGATION

Long considered standard on an e-bike tour, navigation not only offers orientation for e-bikers, but also a practical range indicator and precise route planning.

GEO RANGE

SHOWS YOUR RANGE

GEO RANGE FUNCTION

Using the Geo Range function, you can predict before the tour whether the battery is sufficient for the planned route or whether you need to find a charging station en route or organize additional battery capacity (Range Extender).

The function shows you the ranges for all four assistance levels, depending on

  • the remaining battery capacity or
  • the average energy consumption per assistance level

The colored areas on the map represent the limits that can just be reached in the corresponding assistance level. The key in the lower left corner helps with the color assignment of the different levels and indicates the range in number of kilometers.

Notes:
  • Ranges over 100 km are limited to 100 km. (This limitation is set by the map provider Mapbox.)
  • The ranges are estimates and do not take into account external factors such as gradients, headwinds, precipitation, etc.

TURN-BY-TURN

NEVER TAKE THE WRONG TURN AGAIN

TURN-BY-TURN

Never take the wrong turn again: With the integrated navigation system, you always have an overview of your route and the current riding and status data of the e-bike, both on the display and on your smartphone.

Benefits for you:

  • Planning routes with several waypoints / intermediate destinations («Vias»)
  • Arrow and distance indicator for each turn
  • Display of street names for better orientation
  • Distance and estimated average time to destination
  • New route calculation if you miss the turn-off
  • Navigation function of Mapbox, map material from OpenStreetMap
  • Voice-assisted route guide
  • Marking and retrieving planned routes as favorites
  • Warning symbol for routes for which the battery is not sufficient in the selected assistance level

Plus point for navigation in the FIT Drive Screen: Unlike the display, you can also see the map on your smartphone for an even better overview.

GOOD TO KNOW

If you have planned a route via the app and follow it with the display, you can conveniently put the locked smartphone in your pocket. Make sure that the app continues to run in the background so that the e-bike stays connected.

NAVIGATING WITH KOMOOT

Do you want to use a route from Komoot? Not a problem. The navigation of a Komoot tour is very similar to the normal navigation of FIT, both on the display and on the smartphone.

The only drawback is that if you take a different turn and leave the planned route, Komoot will not be able to calculate a new route unlike navigation within the FIT app. However, you can always see where you are and ride back to the indicated route.

How to link your Komoot account
To ensure that Komoot routes are also displayed in the FIT app under «ACTIVITIES», you must link the Komoot account with the FIT account. To do so, enter the login details for your Komoot account once in the menu. To start a tour planned in Komoot, follow these 3 steps:

  1. Plan your route in Komoot.
  2. Start the FIT E-Bike Control app and connect it to Komoot (see above).
  3. Start the planned Komoot route in the FIT app. Done!

FIND MY BIKE

Have you lost your way and are no longer sure where exactly you parked your e-bike? The free Find my Bike function shows the last known position of the e-bike on a map.

This corresponds to the position of the smartphone where it was last connected to the e-bike.

All e-bikes linked to the same user are displayed on this map.

There is also the option of attaching a separate GPS tracker to the e-bike. This sends the live location to the smartphone (via the IT'S MY BIKE app), registers unwanted movements, helps in the recovery of a stolen e-bike and also functions as an accident assistant. Find out more via the link below to the IT'S MY BIKE website.
