TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS FIT

There’s no difference. TPMS is the abbreviation for tire pressure monitoring system, while RDKS is the abbreviation for its German name. Manufacturers use one particular term, depending on their preferred language.

These are two different types of valve. The Schrader valve is also commonly used in motor vehicles and is also known as the auto valve. The Presta valve is also referred to as Sclaverand or French valve. The Presta valve requires a smaller rim bore than the Schrader valve. This makes the valve particularly interesting for racing bikes and mountain bikes. Through the small rim bore, the valve for narrow rims is unified and there is less loss of stability.

  1. Desserre le capuchon de valve
  2. (Presta uniquement) Desserre le bouchon
  3. Mets la pompe en place sur la valve
  4. Gonfle ton pneu aussi régulièrement que possible jusqu’à la pression souhaitée.
  5. Retire la pompe
  6. (Presta uniquement) Resserre le bouchon
  7. Remets en place le capuchon de valve
  8. Finish

The Schrader valve has a pin on the inside of the valve stem that is pushed down as soon as you apply the air pump. After removing the valve flap, the bicycle tube can be easily filled with air. To release the air again, press the valve pin with a thin (Schrader) or flat (Presta) object. It is important that the object does not press the valve at an angle or with too much force. This is how to stop the valve from being damaged.

Yes. The bicycle tube as well as the bicycle tire can burst due to various factors:

For example:

  • Tube is trapped between rim and tire when pumping
  • Too much pressure
  • Age, sunlight and temperature changes can make the plastic brittle
  • etc.

You will find replacement valves for your FIT TPMS sensors on our homepage. The replacement valves are available as Presta and Schrader valves.

You can set the target and minimum pressure using the FIT E-Bike Control app (E-bikes -> Tire pressure -> Tire pressure) or the FIT Display (Settings -> Tire pressure -> Sensor V or H).
